Their style is unusual. Their sounding is genuine. With their mystique magnificance Tokio Hotel conquered a lot of listeners.

It’s surely something different amongst others styles of music. The success of Tokio Hotel is incredible. They got all first places in all German charts with their single “Durch den Monsun”, awards like Comet (the best newcomers and the best band of the year), Echo, 1Live, the huge approval by critics and it was just the beginning of their creative way.

When the album “Schrei” appeared it caused furor and started new era – era of the sensational success. Here Tokio Hotel showed all their power in it’s own magnificence. Critics accepted this album with good words but still they were waiting carefully when young musicians will show themselves on the stage. But it was clear that these guys were made for performing on stage and create the music. With the everlasting concerts in the summer’05 Tokio Hotel have enormous number of fans and in the end of the season they performed in front of 75 000 people.

They created unique style. Music used to be the most important part of life of each member of the band. Bill writes lyrics since he was 9. Tom plays guitar since he was 6. Guys understood that they need to become musicians and their step-father believed in them and helped them a lot in the beginning. In 2001 twins met their future bass Georg and the drummer Gustav. Guys created the band and called it Tokio Hotel. Why Tokio Hotel? “Tokyo is the city we always wanted to visit. We hope that once we’ll have the chance to make there unbelievable performing. And Hotel because it’s like the symbol of us being all the time on our way”- they say. In half of the year guys started performing it their city – Magdeburg. Everyone was impressed of their charisma.

Soon guys were spotted by serious producers. Two years later the band started working with such producers like Peter Hoffman, Dave Rot and David Jost.  These people took as the purpose to make Tokio Hotel to sound professionally. In August’05 the single “Durch den Monsun” met the public and in one month the album “Schrei” appeared as well. Both got golden awards.

History

Members of the band gathered in 2001 as the members of the project called “Devilish”. In the beginning they took parts only in musical competitions and in small performing. In 2003 Bill Kaulitz tried to perform in the competition for children called “Star Search”, but he failed. But anyway because of this performing the band was spotted by producer Peter Hoffman. The band changes it’s name to Tokio Hotel and conclude the contract with Sony BMG. Peter Hoffman asked David Jost and Pet Benzner to take part in the process and to teach guys to sound professionally. But suddenly everything stopped. After the appearing of the first album Sony BMG canceled the contract. But very soon another giant in the music world decided to take care about band. Universal asked such DJ’s like Basement Jaxx, Melodik Pinpon, Bob Sinclar, Givichy Universal to make remixes for songs made by Tokio Hotel. After changing the name of the band their style changed as well. Tokio Hotel started to play commercial pop and pop-rock. The band became number 1 for teenagers very soon.

2005:

Video for single “Durch den Monsun” appeared on the German channels in July. After this video the band conquered a lot of listeners and fans.

Single started it’s own way in musical charts on August, 20 (15^th place) and already on August, 26 it was already on the first place.

The second video “Schrei” took all first places in all European charts. The band produced the album “Schrei” in September’05.

2006:

In the begging of 2006 was created the third video called “Rette mich”. This version was a bit different from that one was in the album because of Bill’s voice. As the tradition already this video takes all 1^st places.

The next album “Schrei: So Laut Du Kannst” was produced in March. Producing was caused with Bill’s voice changing and with 3 new songs: “Schwarz”, “Beitche” and “Thema nr.1”.

In September the band made their fourth single “Der Lezte Tag”. This song took 1^st places as well.

November, 18 the band visits Moscow with the concert. It was one of the first performing beyond Germany and it showed that the band has fans everywhere.

2007:

April,3 – Zimmer 483 Tour starts. In 1.5 months guys make 20 concerts in the whole Europe (Germany, France, Poland, and Switzerland etc.) also they come to Moscow to visit “Music Awards” and then they perform in Sankt-Peterburg.

In the beginning of July guys produce the English version of their first album called “Scream”. With this album guys start to conquer England, Italy, Spain and USA.

In the end of the September guys make the biggest solo concert in the history of the band – the number of visitors was about 17 000.

In October guys have 12 concerts in France – tickets r sold out in first few days. Also concerts in The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Israel.

November, 4 – the final concert of the tour in Essen, Germany.

Name: Bill Kaulitz (according to himself he has no nickname, but fans like to call him Billy at times).
